History of Bako Hungária LLC.

Bako Hungária LLC. was founded in 1991 by the Hungarian Cukrász LLC. (founded by a 80-member group of bakers and confectioners) and the German Baden-Würtenberg province co-op, Bäko. With over 100 years of experience the German baker and confectioner co-op's purpose was to aid their Hungarian colleges in centralizing the purchasing of necessary raw materials, equipment and machinery. Bako Hungária operates as a limited liability corporation.

Since its 1993 start Bako has shown steady and unwavering growth. In 1994 Bako purchased land and early 1995 completed the construction of a highly modern warehouse, office space and a cash and carry store. At the cash and carry, all materials and equipment necessary for pastry production are beautifully displayed.

In 1996 with the help of the German co-op headquarters (DGRV) we established a showroom, where we provide training and baking exhibitions for our baker and confectioner customers. We deliver an ever changing assortment of raw materials and equipment to our costumers across the country. Due to our constant growth our 2000-square meter warehouse became insufficient, thus the summer of 2004 we began construction of a newer, even more modern warehouse located at the industrial park of Szigetszentmiklós-Leshegy. The new warehouse, cash and carry, showroom and office building is planned to be completed February of 2005.

Our sales revenues have grown from around 40,000 Euros in the first year of operation to today's 16 Million Euros. We currently employ more than 40 associates. We maintain a fleet of 10 trucks that deliver goods all over the country, servicing over 1200 bakeries and confectioneries, as well as major chains like Auchan, Cora and Tesco.

Since we began our operations we have imported raw materials, equipment and machinery from Germany, Austria, India, USA and other EU countries.

Our export efforts focus on bakers and confectioners in Germany, Lithuania, Romania and the former Yugoslavian countries. Starting 2005 we are broadening our current 4500-item assortment with products to service gastronomy.
